Airtree Salt Therapy Room
Salt therapy has been recognised around the world for centuries. Halotherapy has been practised in Europe for over 50 years for the treatment of breathing and skin problems. Salt and the use of saline solutions are not new medical practices, halotherapy extends on these ancient practices. My Nana’s top remedy to just about anything was a salt bath!
About salt therapy
Salt therapy; also known as halotherapy is a natural remedy that involves breathing in dry salt which is evenly dispersed in a comfortable, controlled setting. You sit back and relax (even snooze if you like) while the halogenerator disperses tiny salt particles into the room. Just as you would at the ocean; the salt particles land on your skin and you breathe them in; the salt particle’s can help eleviate and releive many health conditions including
- Eczema & Psoriasis
- Hay Fever
- Cold & Flu
- Sleep & Snoring
- Stress, Anxiety & Fatigue
- Increase Sports Performance
What makes salt effective?
Dry salt is very absorbent and has natural anti-inflammatory & antibacterial properties. When inhaled, the salt causes your mucus to thin and liquefy, making it easier to dislodge and expel – along with pollutants, bacterium, virus, or other microorganism that can cause disease.
Dry salt particles also gently stimulate your body’s natural cilia movement. Cilia help keep our airways clear of mucus and dirt, so we can breathe easy. With the help of salt, this process is accelerated. Think of salt therapy as a scrubbing brush for your airways, helping clean out mucus, debris and pathogens.
For the skin, dry salt can absorb impurities, regulate the pH level and promote your skin’s ‘good’ bacteria. It improves the skin’s protective properties, reducing inflammation and encouraging natural exfoliation and regeneration.
You cant get to the beach every day but you can get to the salt room and feel as invigorated as you do with time spent at the beach. Salt therapy can be used as a complementary treatment along with traditional medicines and is best practised regularly. Treatment is suitable for babies, children and adults. As always it is recommended you check with your GP before making any changes to your health practices.
Salt room sessions are here at Airtree Resort – 623 Murray Valley Highway – report to the office reception for this experience.
